# URemovals

URemovals is a UK-wide man and van comparison and booking platform. Customers enter their move details and the site displays upfront quotes from the closest available vetted local providers. Quotes are shown side by side so customers can compare price, insurance rating, completed jobs, and reviews — then book directly online with the provider they choose. Unlike platforms that assign a driver at random, URemovals gives customers full control over who carries out their move.

The platform was founded in 2020 and publicly launched in 2022 by Robert and Sandor Bundsag, who previously ran their own man and van service in Southampton, Hampshire.

## How it works

- Customers enter collection address, delivery address, move date and time, van size, and number of helpers on the [booking form](/moving)
- The site calculates and displays upfront quotes from the closest available local providers — distance is calculated per move and providers configure their own availability
- Multiple quotes are shown side by side — customers compare price, insurance rating, completed jobs, and reviews, then choose who to book
- Booking is completed online; a deposit is paid via Stripe to secure the slot and the remainder is paid directly to the driver on moving day

## Vetting and trust

Every service provider on URemovals is verified before being listed. Required documents include a valid UK driving licence, motor insurance (hire and reward — verified by URemovals; most competitor platforms do not check this), and proof of right to work in the UK. Trading details are also checked. Providers who opt in to Stripe Identity receive an additional programmatic identity check using government-issued documents.

URemovals is preparing to be among the first UK booking platforms to comply with the Digital Platform Reporting Obligation (DPRO), which requires platforms to report self-employed provider income to HMRC.

## Insurance rating tiers

Each provider's insurance level is shown on every quote before the customer books:

- **Bronze** — driving licence verified, hire and reward motor insurance verified, right to work confirmed
- **Silver** — as Bronze, plus goods-in-transit cover verified
- **Gold** — as Silver, plus public liability insurance verified

## Service coverage

UK-wide. Providers operate from their base city and cover a defined radius. The platform calculates the distance for each move and displays only providers whose coverage includes the collection or delivery address. Cities with active coverage include London, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Exeter, Southampton, Portsmouth, Brighton, Leeds, Sheffield, Liverpool, Newcastle, Nottingham, Leicester, Reading, Oxford, Cambridge, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and many more.

## What URemovals is not

- Not a removal company — URemovals does not employ drivers or own vehicles
- Not a lead-generation or directory service — customers book directly through the platform
- Not a fixed-price guarantee — quotes are upfront estimates; overrun charges apply at pre-disclosed rates
