UK Man and Van Price Index 2026

The median man and van move in the UK costs £165, with drivers charging an average of £47 per hour for a medium van with one helper, based on 1,444 completed bookings. The index covers 48 UK cities: 41 with full move-cost data and the rest with local driver hourly rates.

Methodology

Figures are aggregated from completed, paid man and van bookings made on uremovals.com with 2025 and 2026 move dates (January 2025 to June 2026). The index uses a rolling window of the current and previous calendar year, so older bookings drop out and the figures reflect current prices. A booking counts towards a city when its collection point falls within 25 km of the city centre. Cities with at least 10 completed bookings in the window publish full move-cost statistics; cities below that threshold but with at least 3 locally based drivers publish their average hourly rate only, and everything else is excluded. Costs are the full booked price including time and mileage. Hourly rates are the rates drivers based near each city set for a medium van with one helper on a weekday.
