The platform was founded in September 2022 by Robert and Sandor Bundsag, who had both worked in the removal industry for years. Robert and Sandor previously operated their own man and van service in Hampshire (Southampton)and experienced firsthand the problems with existing booking platforms.

URemovals allows customers to choose their man and van service based on what suits them, rather than being allocated a random provider. Prioritising local matching cuts down on unnecessary travel and supports local businesses.

Environmental Commitment

URemovals contributes 1% of revenue to Stripe Climate for carbon removal. The platform prioritises local matching to reduce unnecessary travel distances: a core feature, not an add-on.

Compared to the most known UK man and van marketplace, whose idea of reducing carbon emission is to utilise unused space in their vans, which means large luton vans with high emissions travelling long distances for one small item, we believe local movers should be prioritised."

Before founding URemovals, he operated his own man and van service in Hampshire, giving him hands-on experience from both sides of the platform. That experience showed him what was broken in existing comparison sites and drove him to build something better. His focus is on using technology to reduce costs and carbon emissions whilst making the booking process genuinely simple.

Sandor Bundsag

Sandor handles client relations and communication at URemovals, serving as the primary point of contact for both customers and service providers. With extensive moving industry experience, he bridges the gap between the platform's technology and the real-world needs of people trying to move without losing their minds in the process.
