AnyVan Review 2026: What 379 Real Customer Reviews Say
Great for one item going far. Risky for a full home move.
Is AnyVan legit? Yes. A 4.6 TrustScore from 209,424 Trustpilot reviews settles that. So it's the wrong question to ask.
The better question: if your move goes wrong, what happens next, and is your move the kind AnyVan handles well? I went looking for the answer in 379 recent AnyVan reviews on Trustpilot. That's all 184 one and two star reviews posted between 17 October and 6 November 2026, plus the 195 newest five star reviews, posted between 5 and 7 November 2026.
Quick disclosure: I'm Robert, and I co-founded URemovals, a man and van comparison platform. We compete with AnyVan, so every claim below comes with its source, and I've said plainly where AnyVan beats us.
My verdict. AnyVan is a good pick for a sofa, a wardrobe or a few boxes going a long way. It shares van space on long routes, which keeps the price down, and you get a price in seconds.
For a full flat or house move on a fixed date, think twice. The bad reviews cluster around two moments: the crew finding more than your item list said, and the reviewer trying to get help from the office after something went wrong. If that sounds like your move, get a second quote from a platform that lets you choose the driver.
How I Tested AnyVan
A single test booking would show you one crew on one day, so I skipped it. Customers had already done the testing for me. I read 379 of their reviews in full:
- The bad ones: 184 reviews, 165 of them one star and 19 two star, from 17 October to 6 November 2026. A complaint only counted when the reviewer said it happened to them.
- The good ones: the 195 newest five star reviews, from 5 to 7 November 2026.
Notice the gap in those dates. The five star reviews piled up in three days. The one and two star reviews needed three weeks to reach a similar number. So the typical AnyVan move goes well, and the bad reviews describe the exceptions. Those exceptions are the risk you take on when you book, which is why most of this review covers them.

Where AnyVan Still Shines
The happy customers keep praising the same handful of things. I sorted the 195 five star reviews by keyword, so treat these as close estimates rather than exact counts. About a third of the reviews say almost nothing beyond "great service", so the real numbers may sit a little higher:
| What five star reviewers praise | Around how many | Share of 195 |
|---|---|---|
| A friendly, polite or professional crew | 53 | 27% |
| Speed, from a fast booking to a quick job | 46 | 24% |
| Turning up on time | 37 | 19% |
| An easy, smooth booking | 35 | 18% |
| A good price or good value | 22 | 11% |
| Careful handling | 21 | 11% |
Several happy reviewers also mention text updates before the crew arrived and being able to follow the driver on the way. On top of that, the way AnyVan works gives it two real advantages:
- It fills empty space. If a van already has a run from Manchester to London booked, your sofa can ride along for less than a van hired just for you would cost.
- The price comes straight away. No waiting for drivers to bid, and no phone calls.
Where AnyVan Hurts
Now for the 184 bad reviews. Many reviewers raise more than one problem, so the numbers below overlap.
Getting help when it goes wrong (89 of 184, 48%)
Almost half the bad reviews are about what happened after the move, not during it. People write about phone queues, unanswered messages and chat agents who couldn't sort the problem. The refund side stings most: reviewers talk about goodwill credits worth a fraction of what they paid, including £10 to £50 offers on moves of around £400, and a damage payout that fell £1,500 short of the repair bill.
A bigger bill on moving day (68 of 184, 37%)
Your AnyVan price rests on the item list you type in. Anything the crew finds beyond that list, they can charge for at the door. In the reviews, those charges run from £29 to rebook a slot up to a quote that, according to the reviewer, climbed from £1,000 to £1,800. Even reviewers who listed everything describe crews deciding the load was bigger than booked. A few also say a driver asked for cash outside the booking.
Crews running late or not coming (41 of 184, 22%)
Delays of three to six hours, vans that never appeared, and cancellations on the morning of the move. One reviewer spent two days waiting for a new crew. On moving day, a late van knocks on to the key handover, the end of your tenancy and whoever moves in after you.
Damage, and things that went missing (35 of 184, 19%)
The damage list covers sofas, tables, mirrors, a fridge and even a wall, plus belongings that never reached the new address. In most of these reviews, the claim afterwards caused as much frustration as the damage.
Jobs the crew wouldn't do (26 of 184, 14%)
Some crews turned down large items such as sofas and wardrobes, wouldn't take a bed apart, or left things behind. A recurring point: nobody mentioned these limits until the crew stood in the hallway.
What ties them together
AnyVan hands your job to one of its transport partners, and you find out who on the day. That's the root of most of the above. Some reviewers loved the driver and gave up on the office. Others found the office helpful and the crew hopeless. Both point the same way. You don't control who turns up, and the item list leaves the final price open until they do.
How to Protect Yourself If You Book AnyVan
If AnyVan suits your job, these steps answer the most common complaints before they happen:
| Common complaint | What to do before the day |
|---|---|
| Charges for items not on the list | Walk through every room, the loft, the shed and the garage, and add every item. Then add a margin for the boxes you haven't packed yet. |
| Charges for dismantling | Tell AnyVan in writing which beds and wardrobes need taking apart, and ask what that costs. |
| Charges for packing materials | Buy boxes and wrap yourself in advance, so the crew doesn't need to supply them. |
| A crew refusing an item | Measure large items and the doorways, and put the sizes in your booking notes. |
| A late or missing crew | Avoid booking the move for the same morning as your key handover if you can. |
| A damage claim | Photograph valuable furniture before loading, and check what cover your booking includes. |
How AnyVan Pricing Works
You won't find a rate card on AnyVan. From what reviewers describe, the price works like this:
- The item list sets the price, together with the journey.
- VAT sits inside the quote, so compare like with like when a man and van quotes without it.
- Extras cost more, including a fixed arrival slot, dismantling, packing materials and rebooking.
- Anything left off the list gets priced at the door, which explains most of the moving day complaints.
Choose AnyVan If / Choose URemovals If
Choose AnyVan if
- One or two items need to travel a long way
- You want a price in seconds and don't mind who turns up

- You need a car moved, or something most local firms won't take
Choose URemovals if
- You're moving a flat or house locally, and the date can't move
- You'd rather pick your driver from their reviews and insurance level
- Listing every item you own sounds like a chore
- You want any overrun charged in half hours at your booked rate
URemovals: Built for Local Moves Where You Choose the Driver
This page is about AnyVan, so here's URemovals in a paragraph. You enter your move and see upfront quotes from the drivers nearest to you, each showing price, reviews, completed jobs and an insurance level of Bronze, Silver or Gold. Van size, helpers, stairs and distance set the quote, so there's no item list to get wrong. If the move runs over, you pay the hourly rate you booked in half hour steps. At £40 an hour, half an hour over adds £20.
Our weak spots, in fairness: the quote is an estimate rather than a fixed price, cover depends on the provider you pick, and with more than 2,000 completed moves we're a fraction of AnyVan's size. You can compare quotes for your move in about a minute.
Is AnyVan Worth It in 2026?
For long distance single items, yes. Shared loads make AnyVan hard to beat on those, and the five star reviews show plenty of crews doing excellent work.
For a whole home on a fixed date, you're taking a chance you don't need to take. Someone else chooses the crew, a list you typed sets the price, and the bad reviews describe a hard slog when things go wrong. Get the AnyVan quote by all means, then put it next to one where you can see the driver before you pay.

FAQs
Is AnyVan legit?
Yes. AnyVan has 209,424 Trustpilot reviews and a 4.6 TrustScore, and customers added 195 five star reviews in three days in early November 2026. The complaints concern service quality and charges, not whether AnyVan is a real business.
Is AnyVan cheaper than a man and van?
It depends on the job. On a long route with one item, AnyVan's shared space often wins. On a local flat or house move, an hourly man and van often costs less, especially once you add AnyVan's extras and remember its quote includes VAT. Price both before you decide.
Why did AnyVan charge me more than my quote?
Among the reviews I read, the usual triggers were items the crew said you hadn't listed, packing materials, dismantling, and choosing a set arrival time. If you think a charge is wrong, check your booking terms and raise it with AnyVan directly.
Can I choose my AnyVan driver?
No. AnyVan assigns one of its transport partners to your job. To choose the driver yourself, use a platform that shows you the drivers before you book, or book a local firm direct.
What happens if AnyVan cancels or the crew doesn't turn up?
Late, missing or cancelled crews feature in 22% of the bad reviews I read, and one reviewer had a two day wait for a new crew. If it happens to you, contact AnyVan straight away and read your booking terms on refunds and compensation.
What are the best AnyVan alternatives?
URemovals for a local home move where you want to choose the driver, a British Association of Removers member for a big house with packing, and Shiply for one item on a flexible date. Our AnyVan alternatives guide covers all 11 options.
Method: I read all 184 one and two star AnyVan reviews posted on uk.trustpilot.com between 17 October and 6 November 2026, and counted those themes by hand. I sorted the 195 newest five star reviews, posted between 5 and 7 November 2026, by keyword, so those figures are close estimates. A review that raised several problems counts once under each. The amounts are the reviewers' own figures, and AnyVan has not confirmed them. TrustScore and review count from AnyVan's Trustpilot page on 7 November 2026.
